Puppy Hugs & Kisses

I found this video quite a while ago, but never did get around to posting it...until now. I discovered it by accident while perusing the "Dance Party Friday" videos of local Channel 12's traffic newscaster, Bob Herzog. I've posted a couple of those in the past, and they're pretty funny, but this channel also does an "Adopt-A-Pet" segment every Saturday morning where they feature dogs and cats from SPCA Cincinnati that need a good home.

Add Bob Herzog to this scenario and hilarity ensues. The puppy in this segment is just too cute for words, and he has "such a face." (My friend, Linda, will know what I mean by that.) Anyway, if anyone out there is in need of a puppy "fix," this video should do the trick. Enjoy.

The video was posted on YouTube by Local12News, and I almost didn't put it on my blog because so many YouTube videos have a knack for being taken down, thereby, leaving big holes in my blog. That is hard for a person with borderline OCD to accept...but I'm learning to cope with it. Sure I am.

lol Awww, that was adorable. That dog sure liked that anchorman. :-D

If they weren't such high maintenance - compared to cats - I'd love to have a dog. They're so unconditionally loving. Cats are kind of 'if I'm in the mood' I love you.

But that's okay. Leaper's like a dog. He follows me everywhere - even into the bathroom when I shower - and sleeps with me. :-)

And I know how you feel. Sometimes I go back over my blog and get horrible distraught with the hole left by the missing video. :-/

I, myself, have never been much of a "pet" person. I've always liked and gotten attached to my friends' pets, but never wanted the responsibility of having one of my own. It's a major commitment and, frankly, it's hard enough taking care of me. LOL I probably lean more toward cats, too. I did, briefly, have a relationship with a kitty I called "Goldie." I cannot say that I "owned" her because -- if anything -- she owned me.

I remember some of the stories you've shared about the dogs you've owned in the past and the neighbors' dogs. And I think you told me once how Leaper used to "latch" onto one of your legs when he was little and you had to walk around the house with him clinging to your leg. LOL I love that mental image.

But just because I'm not inclined to own a dog or cat of my own doesn't mean I can't live vicariously through the stories my friends tell about their pets, or through videos like this one. That's why I wanted to share it. That, plus, the puppy is just so darned cute.

That is one of the best vids ever!

Complete unconditional love and attention. Dogs are pack animals and just want to BE WITH you. The worst thing that we can do is leave our dog behind. He just folds. When we come home, even if it's just for 15 minutes, the greeting we get is heartfelt and happy.

Yes, owning a dog is a big responsibility that can last 15+ years. Buddy is 11 and I know that when he leaves us I'll be devastated. But, I wouldn't change the experience for anything.

Hey, Fuzzy. Glad you liked the video. That is pretty much the way all my pet owning friends feel. They do love their "critters," but it is like losing a member of the family when one of them dies.

One weekend last fall, I went home for a visit. I always stay in a hotel because...well...that way I can come and go as I please without disturbing anyone, etc. Anyway, I got back to my room on a Saturday night and got settled in, watching an Ohio State football game. Then, all of a sudden, I noticed this dog barking...a lot. It was in the room across the hall from mine, and it went on for...like...three hours. It was one of those "yip, yip, yip" type barks, and it was driving me crazy. Then I realized the dog's owners had just dropped this poor thing in the room and gone out and left it alone...in a strange place. Poor puppy, you could tell by its bark that it was stressed-out, and it was stressing me out, too. I didn't resent the dog, but I sure as heck wanted to smack it's owners up the side of the head. I heard them come in around 10:00, and the puppy was as quiet as a mouse after that.

That's awful about that poor puppy. Some people have no sense. Some people shouldn't be allowed to have pets...or children for that matter.

I do love dogs. I just love having other people own them and let me borrow or play with them. :-D And I sure did enjoy being the 'cookie lady' for the neighborhood dogs. But I don't have the energy to be a good dog owner any more and cats are more my style. lol

Good thing I didn't live across the hall from your neighbors or they'd be on the receiving end of a visit from me about responsibility and dogs are not 'things' they're living creatures. Then again considering you have to live so close to those idiots, I suppose it's best to hold your peace. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Sorry, Music Wench, I didn't make myself clear. The barking doggie incident happened in a motel room back home, and was just the one time. If it was a neighbor, and this was an ongoing occurrence, I'd say something. Believe me, I've got some neighbor "war stories" I have yet to put on my blog. LOL I'm not shy about speaking up...when the situation warrants it.

lol Ah, I see that now!!! And I can definitely expect you would have something to say to them!

And I also have a few neighbor war stories. Too bad we can't pre-determine who our neighbors are!
