Johnny And Me...And Vincent

In this installment from the "In Conversation" interview, VDO talks about how he came up with the idea for the yet to be filmed movie, "Johnny And Me." He also explains why, even though he wrote the part for himself, he has decided he cannot act and direct and do the music and play guitar, so he is looking for another actor to play the lead. Bummer! He would be "perfect" for this role.

I had to chuckle when he says, "IF anyone has paid attention to his career..." Yes, Vincent, a few of us have paid very close attention to your career. Granted, I arrived a little later than some to the party, but I sure am glad I "crashed" it.

If he only knew how closely some of us follow his career! lol It does sound like an interesting role. But I can see how it might a bit much for him to do both act, direct, produce, etc.

The more I see of this interview, the more glimpses I catch of Bobby Goren. Thanks for putting all of these up. It really helps fill that gaping hole that's been left since his departure from LOCI.

You're quite welcome, Music Wench. I am so glad that you and everyone else seem to be enjoying these. Not that there was any doubt, considering the subject matter. I've already posted my favorite segment. It was the very last part of the interview...the one when he tells the story about "pausing" on LOCI. I can still hear him saying, "Harry, he's pausing," in that New York accent. Love it.

This whole experience has been quite an adventure. I had to buy special software to tape it, then learn how to convert it, then split each scene and edit out the unnecessary stuff...like the moderator. LOL Then I had to convert each segment into a format acceptable to Photobucket, then upload each vid there. The part that takes the longest is the screen capping though. And now that I've bored you to death with the methodology of it all...I am going to bed. My goal is to have the next installment up this weekend.

BobbyG, thank you SO much for investing all the time and effort to share these with us! This clip, in particular, is fascinating. I still hope he will have to play this part because I can't imagine anyone else that can do as brilliant a job as he can. I LOVE to hear him talk about his work process! He is such a true artist.

Sorry if you get this as a double, Firefox just crashed on me...

Anyway...
First - I want to echo what Ruby said!

Second - Vincent, honey, get a decent director and take that part yourself. It's cut out for you!

Third - No Boring about the Tech stuff at all, BobbyG. I appreciate you going through all this trouble for all of us, and I really hear ya about the screen caps...

Isn't it amazing that, no matter what the 'work' involved, we happily plunge into things we'd probably not do for any one else, for the 'Greater Glory of Sharing Vincent' ;0) Thanks for your tenacity in getting it done.

I wish he'd let someone else direct and star in the movie instead.

Ruby, TJara, & Diane: Believe me when I say it is my pleasure to be able to share this with everyone who happens to find their way to my piddly little blog. And I don't really consider it "work," you know. It is just a way to pass the time while watching TV and ballgames and such. And ladies/girls...what better way to pass the time than with Vincent/Bobby. I know you all agree with that.

Ann, believe me when I say that I am amazed that I figured out how to do this...on my own. It was not without a good deal of trial and error. Suffice it to say, the Replay Media software I use is extremely easy to figure out, or all these videos would not be possible...from me at any rate. And thanks for the nice words about the blog; you're very sweet.

She was only stating the truth ;-)
This is a very nice place with cool stuff posted :)

And thank you, Tjara. Just so you know, I do stop by your blog, too. I may not comment very often, but I do visit. I really enjoyed your post about your recent trip to Berlin. Very interesting and incredibly lovely photos.

Why thank you, BobbyG. And do not worry about commenting. I always figure that those people who got to say something will say something. I, on the other hand, simply can't keep my mouth shut (or my fingers still, if you wanna put it like that). ;-)

Hi, Bobby G. I love your site too. I don't know if I've ever commented here. I LOVE the videos. Thank you. Thank you. Btw, I've been wondering, for some time, why Vincent doesn't get a director, too.

Jean, I guess since he came up with the idea and wrote it, he wants to direct it to make sure it comes across as he envisions it. The part sure does sound IDEAL for him though.

I'd rather him act and get someone like Dan Ireland to direct it.
